What is UOMI?

UOMI is a highly specialized multidisciplinary center dedicated to the comprehensive care of cancer patients: from rapid and accurate diagnosis to offering the most appropriate treatment for their disease, providing close support to patients and their families at each stage in the process.

What are our goals?

  • To offer the best possible treatment for cancer, understanding that the disease impacts all facets of our patients’ lives (physical, emotional, family, work…)
  • To create a community with our patients and their families, working side-by-side to achieve the best possible care.
  • To transmit to society information that helps to prevent cancer and to diagnose early, and to generate initiatives that promote research and bring us closer to a curative treatment for the disease.
  • To participate actively in research into oncological treatments, early diagnosis methods, and tools to enhance patients’ quality of life.

How do we work?

Patients receive an initial multidisciplinary assessment to quickly establish a diagnosis and molecular characterization of their disease. Their general health and the presence of other diseases that may condition their treatment will also be evaluated. Subsequently, the specialist will indicate the most appropriate treatment, which will be administered in the oncology treatment unit by specialized nurses. In some cases, the best approach might be an experimental treatment offered as part of one of our center’s active clinical trials.

Patients will be closely monitored by the entire team and will be able to contact them directly to resolve questions arising at any stage. Complementary services will also be offered across all areas that contribute to improving the patient experience during treatment, including psycho-oncology, onco-aesthetics, nutrition…

The most advanced treatments will be applied with the greatest possible flexibility, ensuring that they meet each patient’s preferences and needs.
