New Edition of the Explora’t Conference to Promote Cancer Prevention Among People with Disabilities
On October 24, from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM, a new edition of the Jornadas Explora’t will take place, a project committed to improving health and preventing cancer among people with disabilities.
Coinciding with the month that commemorates World Breast Cancer Day, Explora’t will offer five workshops designed for around 80 participants. These activities, led by experts from various medical disciplines, aim to encourage healthy lifestyle habits and raise awareness about the importance of prevention.
The Explora’t Conference, organized by UOMi Cancer Center and Clínica Mi Tres Torres, with the support of the Sarrià-Sant Gervasi district and the Municipal Institute for People with Disabilities, will be held in collaboration with the Teas Foundation, ESMEN Foundation, CO La Gavina, Aura Foundation, Pere Mitjans Foundation, and Estímia Foundation. The program is structured around five thematic areas:
- Gynecology and Urology: Focused on sexual and reproductive health, with special attention to the prevention of diseases such as breast cancer and prostate cancer.
- Good Habits: Specialists will offer practical advice on adopting a healthy lifestyle, emphasizing balanced nutrition and physical activity.
- Psychology: A workshop titled “Mens sana in corpore sano” will address the importance of mental health as an essential component of overall well-being.
- Physiotherapy: A session led by a specialized physiotherapist will focus on the benefits of physical exercise as a tool for prevention.
- Oncology: Information will be provided on the early detection of cancer and the relevance of self-examination as a preventive measure.
The main goal of the conference, which is supported by professionals from MOVE, Meditelier, Cegra, La Roche Posay, and Munich, is to create a welcoming and safe environment where participants can freely interact with specialists, ask questions, and share their concerns. Explora’t also emphasizes the importance of ensuring accessibility to information for people with disabilities, guaranteeing that everyone can access the resources and knowledge necessary to take care of their health.
